Beware of Fake Charities

It's great to help others by giving, but make sure your donations go to the right place. Sometimes right after a tragedy or disaster, scammers set up fake charities and try to take advantage of your generosity. Make sure to research before you donate, and help prevent others from becoming a victim by reporting scams to your state consumer protection office or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
